Professor Ramesh K. Goyal, is the Vice Chancellor, Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University since 2016. Formerly he was the Vice-Chancellor of the MS University of Baroda and held positions as Director in Chennai, Mumbai; Moga, Panjab in addition to Professor at L. M. College of Pharmacy, Ahmadabad. In 2019 he was conferred with the Honorary Professorship at Stavropol State Medical University, Russia as second only non-Russian Professor title in 80 years there and the Distinguished Professor at the UCSI University, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He has over 45 years of experience in Teaching and Research. He was the post-doctoral scholar, visiting scientist and Visiting Professor in University of British Columbia Vancouver and University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada.

Dr Goyal got five patents awarded, 4 under consideration, about 40 books and book chapters, over 390 full papers articles (‘h’ index 47), over 600 abstracts published in National and International journals. He has guided 46 Ph.D. and over 200 MPharm/MBA/MPH students. He has been invited as the Speaker, and Chairman has delivered has delivered over 300 invited lectures in India and 40 abroad. He is the recipient of 78 National & International Awards. He is the Fellow of eight professional bodies (FIPS, FIACS, FAMS, FIC, FICN, FNASc, FSCH, FIVSPT). He is the President of International; Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences, Winnipeg, Canada (India Chapter) and has been the President of Indian Pharmacological Society, Society of Pharmacovigilance, India and Indian Society of Hypertension.

He also served as the Expert member of the Indian Medicinal Plants Review group and SAG of ICMR, New Delhi, Scientific Advisory Committee of Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission, Faridabad and Phyto-pharmaceutical Group of Central Drugs Standards Control Organization (CDSCO) New Delhi, National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and Peer Member & Chairman in NAAC committees. He is the Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Group of the National Drug Testing Laboratory of Sports Authority of India. He was the Chairman of the Central Region of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and also the Executive Member of the AICTE.

Associate Professor David (Dedi) Meiri heads the Laboratory of Cancer Biology and Cannabinoid Research at the Faculty of Biology, Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, where he is also a member of the Technion Integrated Cancer Center (TICC).

Dr. Meiri comes from a highly diverse scientific background. He holds an M.Sc. in biochemistry and a Ph.D. in plant biotechnology from Tel Aviv University. He conducted his post-doctoral fellowship at the Ontario Cancer Institute where he focused on the role of the GEF-H1 protein in tumor invasion and metastasis, receiving in a short time worldwide recognition as an expert in the fields of G-protein coupled receptors and small GTPases.

Presently, Dr. Meiri’s lab investigates the vast therapeutic potential of cannabinoids and other bioactive components in various species of cannabis, as well as endogenous cannabinoids from the human body. On top of the research on cannabis, the lab is also studying secondary metabolites from algae and psychedelic mushrooms. The lab’s current research interest is how these naturally occurring metabolites affect various types of cancer, inflammatory diseases and disorders of the nervous system such as epilepsy, Alzheimer’s and others. The lab consists of a highly trained team of skilled professionals and students, working in synergy to achieve the highest level of results, to better understand the complexity and diversity of cannabis and other natural components, and realize their full therapeutic potential for human health.

In addition to the laboratory cannabis research performed on-site, Dr. Meiri collaborates with cannabis growers, clinicians, major manufacturers and distributors of medical cannabis for the purpose of revolutionizing cannabis treatment. He is operating the \\\"Cannabis Database Project\\\" and his lab is currently involved in several clinical trials covering diverse aspects of cannabis treatment such as anticancer treatment, colon disease, pain prevention and epilepsy.

Agronomist with B.Sc. in Pest and Disease Control, M.Sc. in Soil, Water, and Micro-Climate Sciences, Tal Saadon is a well-qualified agronomist with a diverse scientific background in plant cultivation, ranging from biology and ecology to the chemistry and physics of crop sciences. Mr. KK Sharma, the first Director General (DG) of functional Competition Commission of India (CCI) & its first Head of Merger Control and Antitrust Divisions, is often called ‘Father of Indian Competition Law ’ because of his unique distinction of drafting competition law and regulations for India and overseeing enforcement of this law thereafter. Mr. Sharma not only had investigated landmark cases of competition law violations, in wide sectors, and brought them to fruition but , later on, moving over to the bar, also successfully defended big corporate clients against hefty penalties. Having been the ‘Architect of Indian Merger Review Format’ and steered the very first merger reviews of the competition agency, Mr Sharma has a comprehensive experience, of nearly three decades, in various Government departments , public bodies, including direct tax administration, the CCI and the private sector. A regular invited speaker at international conferences on competition law and other issues, he has been an active member of International Competition Network (ICN) Merger Working Group, Mr Sharma travels around the globe. Mr. Sharma , an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology(IIT) and National Law School University (NLSU) Bangalore, a qualified lawyer and an economics masters is trained in Competition Law Economics from King’s College, London. President of India has appointed him a ‘Special Counsel’ for arguing complex tax matters of Government of India before higher judicial authorities. The procedures, formats, protocols designed by him – either in the IRS, as a Tax Administrator, or Competition Commission of India- survive to this day and form the backbone of the competition law framework & enforcement in India. Be it the first few investigation reports or first penalties orders by Antitrust Division or the merger approvals, his stamp is everywhere in the initial footprints of competition law enforcement in India. The firm, established by him, has the distinction of succeeding in almost impossible cases where others had given up hopes or had no clue how to proceed. Amongst other cases, a potential penalty of USD 430 million was reduced to a penalty of USD 96 million and eventually reduced to a miniscule USD 0.28 million and to the extent that the Client did not even consider it fit to contest the minimalistic reduced penalty. The genetics governing complex features in Cannabis, however, is still not well understood.  Using PAN India germplasm, he has taken the initiative to isolate a few pure CBD, THC, and fiber line(s). His focus has been on Cannabis to better understand the genomes and genetics of cannabinoids. In an effort to create composite or synthetic seeds, he attempts to use genomic and genetic methodologies to isolate cannabinoid-rich Cannabis pure line(s) in India. As metabolite is enormously influenced by the environment, modeling Cannabis genotype x environment interaction, mapping, and metabolite QTL analysis in single segregating populations are further topics of his interest. He is trying to understand what other factors contribute to the Cannabinoids other than the key pathway gene(s) with RNASeq and QTLSeq data. We are also complementing our findings with the genome sequence of Indian Cannabis.
